The cost of your HVAC unit will vary depending on the size of your home and the type of system you choose. Generally, you can anticipate a price tag of $3,500 or higher. However, if budget constraints are a concern, rest assured that we are well-equipped to assist you in exploring alternative financing options.
All air conditioners possess a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER), which indicates their energy efficiency. A higher SEER value implies greater efficiency. While the industry’s current minimum SEER is 14 for new air conditioning systems, some state-of-the-art units can achieve a SEER of up to 21. Although a unit with a higher SEER may initially cost more, it can ultimately save you money by reducing monthly operating expenses over the system’s lifespan.
Starting from January 1, 2023, a new SEER rating system, Seer 2, will be implemented, necessitating a minimum SEER of 15.
To minimize cooling expenses, it is advisable to use the “auto” setting on your air conditioning unit, which runs the fan only when necessary to maintain the desired temperature. Nevertheless, if you prefer a more stable temperature, the “on” setting will provide continuous airflow. This setting can be beneficial for individuals with allergies or asthma since the air is continually filtered as it passes through the system.
Living is South Florida where the humidity is high and higher SEER equipment produces more condensation causing increased growth in drain pan and drain lines. Kyzar Air Conditioning recommends maintenance twice a year to help prevent maintenance issues with your air conditioning system.
